Ommen has a rich history dating back well before the Hanseatic period. As early as around the year 1100, Ommen was mentioned as a ford along the Vecht River. In 1248 the town received its city rights and grew into an important trading town. Today, there are still many historical sites and stories to discover, and that's not all!

The Vechtzomp
