Sportrijk has been a familiar name in Ommen for over 40 years. A true family business, and for many locals the place where their fitness journey began (or is still going strong). They combine years of experience with modern fitness trends and offer an all-round gym with great group classes and knowledgeable trainers. In March, Anytime Fitness opens its doors in the former Action building on the Markt. So yes: working out right in the centre! Expect a friendly, approachable vibe, with trainers on the floor to help when you need it (or simply for a quick chat). You can train independently, join group classes, or get guidance on training and nutrition. They’ll be open 24/7!
Emsland
Emsland Ommen is also a great place to work on your strength and fitness. Alongside their big combat-sports offering, you’ll find a well-equipped fitness area with cardio and strength machines. Whether you want to build strength on the equipment or challenge your body with a martial arts class, Emsland combines solid training with dynamic group sessions — all in an accessible atmosphere.

At The One, it’s all about personal guidance from well-trained coaches. With Personal Training or Small Group Training, they work with you towards a fitter, stronger body — including check-in moments, a tailored training plan and nutrition advice. In a 1-on-1 programme you’ll get a fully tailored training plan, including nutrition advice and support around lifestyle and mindset. That way you don’t just become stronger — you also build habits that actually fit your rhythm and goals. Mike’s coaching style is warm, honest and no-nonsense: he listens, challenges you and helps you move forward, with a strong focus on technique, progress and motivation. Want to train with someone? Duo-Training is available, and if you prefer a small group, Small Group Training is a friendly, accessible option.
Power Training Ommen (Jan Poelarends)
Power Training Ommen works on a simple idea: learn to train independently, with professional guidance. In the first phase you’ll learn how to do exercises correctly and safely, so you can then continue on your own with a personal training plan. You train in a calm setting with a maximum of 12 people at a time, and Jan is regularly present to correct and fine-tune where needed. This way, Power Training combines the benefits of coaching with the freedom of independent training. Personal Training is also possible.
