Yes! Spring break! The days are just a bit longer, spring is in the air ... and yet it can still feel a bit wintery outside. But hey: with kids that's no problem at all, because in and around Ommen there is so much fun to do during the vacations that you never have to get bored. Weather or no weather. Oh, and another little bonus tip: keep an eye on our calendar! We often add extra activities during the vacations, so keep an eye on our calendar for the complete overview. Happy spring break!

  1. Carrousel Swimming Pool: holiday = swim time!

Carrousel Swimming Pool is always a great idea for a refreshing dip, and during spring break there are also extra fun activities on the schedule, such as Toddler Morning Bingo on 23 February, disco bingo on 25 February, or the music afternoon on 27 February.

  2. Winter Games on the ice at De Kleine Wolf

Spring break, but still want to keep it nice and wintry for a bit? You can at De Kleine Wolf! The ice rink is transformed during this holiday into the setting for your very own Winter Games. Children can complete challenges, tick them off on a bingo card, and collect their own gold medal as a reward. How fun is that? Tickets start at €7.50. Tip: reserve in advance, because full = full.

  3. Do a museum day in Ommen

Is the weather cold and gloomy? Then a museum is a top plan. In Ommen you can, for example, visit the National Pewter Figurines Museum or dive into history at the Historical Museum. Extra fun: you can easily combine it with lunch in the heart of Ommen in between. For current opening times and prices, check the museums’ websites: Historisch Museum & Tinnenfigurenmuseum

  4. Get creative: paint ceramics at Pluck

At Pluck you can sit down and paint ceramics. Ideal for a holiday morning or afternoon when you want something different from running around, rushing about and bouncing off the walls. You can choose between two time slots: start at 10:00 a.m. or start at 1:30 p.m. The workshop lasts 2.5 hours and the starting price is €19.50. Pluck provides instructions, materials, glazing and firing—and of course a tasty drink. Isn’t that the perfect outing?

  5. Come (disco) bowling at Ommerland

Holiday time is the time to take over the bowling alley. Round up your family, friends or neighbors and go for those strikes! Extra fun: at Ommerland you can also do disco bowling. That’s available until 23 March on Wednesday evenings—so also during spring break. What a party!

  6. Escape Room or City Game at Rederij Peters

Do you have little detectives at home—or are you secretly one yourself? Then this is highly recommended. At Rederij Peters you can choose an exciting Escape Room or a fun City Game through Ommen. And yes… you can of course just do both. After all, it’s holiday.

  7. Dive into the Giga Rabbit Hole at Beerze Bulten

The Giga Rabbit Hole is already a party on its own, but during the holiday there are also extra fun theatre shows. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, Bultje is ready with a show full of adventure and fun. Tickets during holidays and weekends are €7.50 (admission free for adults and children aged 13 and up).
