Winter Festival Ommen packs in extra this year with more local stalls

More local makers than ever

For the first time, organizers made an open call for local makers to apply for a spot at the market. The response was overwhelming. More than forty local creatives applied for a full or half stall. The result: more stalls, more creativity and more local craftsmanship than previous years. How much fun and local do you want it to be?

"This is great, of course. We organize the Winter Festival with and for Ommen. The enormous number of applications shows how much talent, passion and entrepreneurial spirit there is in our municipality. Fantastic to bring it all together this year."

A Christmas market full of craft and creativity

Throughout the center, visitors will find a wide mix of products from local makers. From wooden work and cards to home accessories, brownies, cakes, Christmas arrangements and small gifts. All made with attention and craftsmanship by people from Ommen and the surrounding area. The familiar stalls will also be there again, of course.

Music and experience on every street corner

The Winter Festival offers a musical program that accompanies visitors throughout the afternoon and evening as they stroll through the center. The Dickens Choir, Brass Fever, Pop Choir Vocalicious and the Santa Claus Dixie Band will provide recognizable Christmas sounds. In addition, there will be performances by a barrel organ, a saxophonist and midwinter horn blowers, and various artists will walk through the center. On every street corner there is something to experience.

For children plenty to do

There is also plenty to do for young visitors. Glitter tattoos, a balloon modeler, a Christmas train running through the center and a petting zoo at the Market Square provide a cheerful and accessible festival experience for families.

Peace and wonder at the museum

During the Winter Festival, the National Tin Figures Museum opens its doors to visitors. There, the Christmas Exhibition Boundless Beautiful is on display: a special collection of Christmas groups from different countries, ranging from refined miniatures to beautifully handmade figures. Taste, get warm and enjoy

Scattered throughout the center is plenty of space to taste and warm up. Visitors will find delicious chocolate milk, mulled wine, soup, oliebollen and winter terraces at local catering establishments that perfectly match the winter atmosphere. In addition, stores will stay open extra long this day and there will be special promotions, making the Winter Festival also an ideal time to do some shopping.

The Brigitta Church will also host an atmospheric Christmas market on December 13. Between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. you can visit the church for beautiful Christmas decorations, Christmas arrangements and winter delicacies.
