This year, Golfclub Hooge Graven's annual Charity Day raised a whopping €14,000 for the new hospice to be built on Zeesserweg in Ommen. The amount came about thanks to a wonderful cooperation between club members, sponsors, residents of Ommen and companies from the region.
Golfers played a round of 18 holes for a fee, donations were made, and an online art and experience auction raised much of the money.
"It's fantastic to see how many people are willing to contribute to this important initiative," said Atke Wegerif, co-organizer and member of the club's management team. Together with Niek Vreeman, manager of Hooge Graven, she presented the check to the board of the hospice. The photo shows how the symbolic handing over took place with great pleasure.
The organization looks back on a successful day, in which sportsmanship and community involvement went hand in hand. "A hospice is a place of rest, care and dignity. That we may contribute to this as a club makes us proud," said Wegerif.
Golfclub Hooge Graven thanks all sponsors, volunteers, participants and stakeholders for their contribution to this wonderful result.
