The opening of this year's exhibition season of Kunst onder de Wieken will focus on freedom. Because before the exhibition in the mill is officially opened by Alderman Alice van den Nieuwboer, she will unveil the freedom panel, made in the context of 80 years of freedom, in the center of the city of Ommen.

We want to celebrate that we can make and show our art in complete freedom, without restrictions. The freedom to be who you are, to be able to say what you want and to be able to make what you want as an artist is a great good that was fought hard for 80 years ago, and which is the focus of much attention this year. And rightly so, because in many places in the world that freedom has been and is being restricted.
At 2:30 p.m., Alderman Alice van den Nieuwboer will unveil the liberation panel attached to the Rohof family's home at Kerkplein 9. The liberation panel is an ode to the flame of freedom that we all want to keep alive in our country. It is a beautiful collaboration of two artists. Loes van der Linde works with glass, Jolande Aalvink works with acrylic and is the creator of the poem that appears on the panel.
Afterwards we will all walk to Molen de Konijnenbelt on Zwolseweg 5 where the alderman will open the first of a series of five exhibitions of Kunst onder de Wieken around 3 p.m. The artists will tell something about their work, and there will be a festive closing with a snack and a drink.
You are cordially invited to attend this unveiling and the opening of Kunst onder de Wieken. And of course you are always welcome during the opening hours of Kunst onder de Wieken.
