Ommen

A unique fishing outing on the Overijssel Vecht.

Sportvisserij Oost-Nederland likes to give disabled people the opportunity to fish and sail from a wheelchair accessible boat on the Overijsselse Vecht near Ommen. The natural, varied surroundings and special catches make fishing on the Vecht a wonderful experience. Thanks to our cooperation with camping the Koeksebelt, the Reggesafari and the efforts of our volunteers, we can offer disabled people a wonderful (fishing) day out. The fishing trips take place during the camping season (April - October).

Two experienced volunteers will both drive the boat and guide the guests in fishing. VECHT skippers can bring 1 to a maximum of two people in wheelchairs on board. As a guest angler, you are responsible for care supervision, so there is plenty of room available for a care companion to join you on board. You do not need to be an experienced angler to join us. You can fish for various species of whitefish in a low-threshold manner with the fixed pole and the old-fashioned dowel. It is also possible to troll with lures for predatory fish, such as pike, perch and predatory bleak. It is also possible to go pike fishing in the summer months. All necessary fishing tackle, a safe life jacket and (if necessary) warm blankets are provided.
